Morning Sickness Really Means All-day Sickness

So sorry that the blog has been left unattended. Unfortunately, I have not been feeling very well. Finding my appetite, and then eating, and then keeping it all down has been a real challenge. It really helps to be in the fresh air--being by the ocean is especially good. But my office seems to be the absolute worst place for it (stuffy air with no circulation). The good news is that morning sickness is supposed to mean the baby's thriving and asserting itself as a strong presence. We have our first ultrasound in less than two weeks, so keep looking for those pictures!!!!!!!!

So sorry for the nausea, Holly! But it is also pleasantly reassuring at the same time, isn't it? I was so sick one week that I didn't even take my vitamins. For a whole week! Such a bad mommy.

Giving in to the barfing seemed to help me. Avoiding watching other people eating. Cranberry juice and ginger ale. Chinese dumplings with lots of soy sauce. And cheeseburgers from McDonald's. (I'm making a little junk food baby. Your family might be making a different choice.) The number one thing both babies hated at this time was anything green, especially my healthy green juices. I kind of want to barf right now just thinking about them.

Did you know that I'm exactly half a pregnancy ahead of you? And I'm deeply embedded in the eating-cookies-all-the-time stage of things. It's just around the bend! No more laying on the floor all day! I can't wait to see you!
Love to you and your tiny bear!
